As I understand it, the Obama administration is also setting its sites on Pakistan. We can’t afford the wars we already have. Most of the New Deal programs that created so much wealth and saved so many lives, have already been defunded; as a result, the infant mortality and maternal death rates among America’s poor now exceeds that of most Third World countries, while the life expectancy of our poor has been falling. Now we have politicians calling for defunding Social Security because, in fact, it is the only way acceptable to those in power to continue the march to armageddon without imposing on the wealthy (who, in turn, fund political careers).
So, what are we going to do about it? It’s not a rhetorical question.
